Beware "vibe-coded" Stripe migration services that "take minutes"

Why high-stakes billing transitions are not something to hand to an untested automation or a service promising instant results.

We have been hearing from teams that tried Stripe migration services claiming to move highly critical business data "in minutes." The stories sound similar: the service did not work as advertised, the account needed cleanup afterward, and the business took on far more risk than expected.

Many of these services also claim a 100% success rate. That claim does not hold up when their customers are the ones reaching out to us to repair the aftermath.

Some of these tools appear to be lightly assembled, AI-assisted products built by people with very little experience migrating Stripe accounts in the real world. That does not mean AI is the problem. It means a high-stakes billing transition is the wrong place to trust an unproven process.

Please choose carefully. Some of the brand damage that can be done may be irreversible.

If your team plans to use AI as part of a migration, that can be sensible. The safer model is to keep an experienced human in the loop to review the plan, challenge the assumptions, and help the team avoid expensive mistakes. We move as quickly as we can, but we do not trade certainty for haste. We will not migrate a customer's data until we believe the transition will go smoothly and the full team is prepared.
